Course specialist Refuge heads to his favourite track on Thursday. The eight-year-old has recorded four of his seven career wins in South Lanarkshire and he'll be ridden by seven pound claimer Lewis Chalkley in the 'Phoenix Drilling Ground Investigation Handicap'.
Nine horses have been declared for the five furlong contest with three last time winners in the field. The form horse is Miss Rainbow who is seeking a four-timer after winning at Newcastle last month.
Refuge provided Lewis with his first winner back in July 2023 at Haydock Park and he's a horse who holds a special place in the young rider's affections.
Yorkshire Lady will appreciate the easier ground in Scotland and she'll run in the 'Wellman Cars Private Hire Hamilton Handicap' where she drops back to the extended mile. A seven time winner, she was last successful at Ayr in August 2024 and she'll be ridden by Joanna Mason.
Eleven horses go to post with class dropper Lunar Eclipse looking to be one of those in form. Kevin Ryan's grey finished third here last month in what looked a better race although her best form is on easy ground.
