From Germany to Hong Kong to The Quantocks: Parsival's story

Rehoming
Racehorses can have interesting lives and Parsival certainly has a story to tell.
A son of Kallisto, Parsival was born in Germany in 2015 out of the mare Prakasa. After a date at the Sales he was purchased to race in Hong Kong. He ran several times under the bright lights of Sha-Tin before being moved by his owners to Great Britain and finding his way to our yard. As the crow flies New House Farm in Sheriff Hutton is 5,911 miles from Sha-Tin racecourse!
Parsival was easily distinguishable because he carried the tattoo 'B454' from his time in Hong Kong where all horses wear identity stencils.
Parsival didn't seem to have the speed to win in Britain and so rather than heading for the racecourse we made him available as part of our rehoming programme, through which he found a loving home with Tina Stallard-Pearson.
In 2021 Parsival headed south to the beautiful countryside of Worcestershire where he'll enjoy the rest of his life.
"He has been having a wonderful life down here in Worcestershire," says Tina. "We've done loads of hacking and he has been on a riding holiday to the Quantocks in October which he loved exploring. He has taken a real liking to dressage over the winter months. He is a real star and a horse in a life time for me. Everyone loves him."
"We love him to bits, he's one in a million. So glad we have him."
We'd all like to pass on our thanks to Tina for giving Parsival a great home. Everyone at the yard was fond of him while he lived here at Sheriff Hutton and we follow his after-racing exploits with great interest.
Don't forget, if you're looking for an ex-racehorse there's no better place to start than to join our mailing list where we send out details of horses for rehoming!
