Retiring our horses is always a bittersweet moment—especially those who've given us so many great seasons on the track.

While there's a touch of sadness in saying goodbye, there's also real joy in seeing them head off to enjoy a well-deserved rest. Earlier this autumn, Contrast began his new chapter in Norfolk, and today Refuge has found a wonderful new home on a farm in North Yorkshire. We know he'll be very happy there.

Refuge has been a true star for the Laura Mason Syndicate and Julia Lukas, winning seven races and giving us all some unforgettable memories. We’re so grateful for everything he’s given and wish him the very best in retirement.

We were overwhelmed by the response—over a hundred messages and more than 40 offers of a home for Refuge. Thank you to everyone who reached out. Please bear with us, as we’ll have more horses retiring and looking for loving homes before the year's end.

Thank you, Refuge, for the memories. Enjoy your new adventure!
