I Need Your Love was a winner at Bath this afternoon where he recorded the stable's first ever win at the Somerset track. The son of Zoustar ran a fine race to take the BeatWright: Beat The Wright Way Handicap under Billy Garritty, who was riding his 19th winner of the season for the yard, at odds of 5/1.
Carrying the red and beige colours of owner John Blackburn the three-year-old was always going well and stayed on well to hit the front close to home and he passed the post half a length in front of 5/4 favourite Marching Mac.
It's taken 64 years of training to send out a winner at Britain's highest flat track and the long journey and overnight stay was certainly worthwhile.
I Need Your Love was originally due to take his place at Tattersalls Sales this week but he was withdrawn from the proceedings and he's repaid his owner's faith by recording a well deserved victory.
There was also success under National Hunt rules this afternoon as Monte A Bord was a winner at Newcastle on his second start. The son of Awtaad had run well on his debut at Kelso when runner up in a race where the form has worked out very well, and he came home half a length ahead of Grazeon Sunshine to win the Download The Raceday Ready App Open Maiden National Hunt Flat Race at Gosforth Park.
