We head to Newcastle on Thursday with our first flat runners since the short November break. The end of the turf season is followed by a week without racing on the level, giving jockeys a chance of a well earned holiday, and our first runners after the break will be at Gosforth Park on Thursday.
Homebred three-year-old Your Baby's Eyes makes his flat debut having run in a bumper on his debut last month. He drops back to ten furlongs in the Midnite: Built For 2025 Not 2005 Maiden Stakes. Harry Russell takes the ride in what looks a stiff test, with the 81-rated Military Cross, runner up in all of his six outings to date, setting the standard.
What What What was a course and distance winner in March and he returns to the all weather after three runs on turf. Nine have been declared for the oddly named Midnite Ain't Your Grandad's Bookie Handicap in which our horse is just one of two in the field to have posted a victory in their last six outings.
Carlton And Co has been busy this year and has won at Musselburgh and Redcar. She is a former Newcastle winner over seven furlongs and she'll return to Gosforth Park to tackle the first division of the six furlong Create Your Bet Builders At Midnite Handicap. Lewis Chalkley takes the ride and claims a valuable seven pounds.
