Desert Emperor provided apprentice jockey Lewis Chalkley with his second winner in three days this afternoon when the pair came home first in the Midnite A Next Generation Betting App Apprentice Handicap this afternoon.
Taking a position in midfield Lewis and Desert Emperor made headway 2f out and took the lead a furlong out before running on well to win convincingly.
The eight-year-old veteran was winning for the second time for new connections and was watched by co-owner Lee Westwood as he was returned at rewarding odds of 22-1.
Desert Emperor joined us as a three-time winner from Ivan Furtado back in 2022 and this was his first win at ten furlongs, with previous wins coming at a mile and a half and beyond.
