Sovereignlightcafe makes his racecourse return this morning as he lines up for the BetWright Bet The Wright Way Maiden Hurdle at Sedgefield. Last seen on the flat in July 2024 when finishing fourth at Thirsk he's been put away for a jumping campaign and will face eight rivels in the two mile and one furlong contest where Dan Skelton's Leaumec De Mee looks the one to beat.

Later this afternoon Liverpool Star will have his first race on the all weather in the Best Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Nursery Handicap at Newcastle. He's not raced since Windsor in September where he found the ground too testing having finished third at Thirsk of fast ground in July. We leave off the blinkers this time and Lewis Chalkley takes the ride and claims seven pounds.
