Capla Resdev brings down the curtain for 2025 when she runs in the QuinnBet Mares' Open Maiden National Hunt Flat Race at Uttoxeter on New Year's Eve.
The daughter of Almanzor finished fourth on her debut at Doncaster last month and she heads to Staffordshire on Wednesday where she'll be ridden by Craig Nichol. She'll wear a first time tongue tie to help her breathe.
There's little form to go on in the race. Millstatt Abbey changed hands for £100,000 at Punchestown Sales earlier this year after finishing second in a point-to-point at Loughanmore in Ireland. Fern Gully has a useful pedigree and is a half-sister to two winners, whilst Arbor Rose also brings a placed point-to-point run into the race.
Capla Resdev is a half-sister to our winning grey Hazy Glen, who is showing lots of promise over fences, and we hope she turns out to be as good.
