Sharp Call raced in the colours of Brian Padgett Racing and the Laura Mason Syndicate. Across 12 career starts — seven on the all weather and five on turf — she never finished in the frame, with her best efforts being mid division runs at Southwell and Chelmsford. With her BHA rating sat in the 40s, reflecting a filly who tried hard but didn't show enough speed or finishing kick to be competitive, her owners decided it was time to find her a new career off the track.

A kind, straightforward filly and a favourite in the stable despite her modest race record, after finishing last at Southwell on 13th January 2026 she was retired and rehomed to a working farm in Northumberland where she settled quickly and is now enjoying a quieter life away from racing.

"Sharp Call is going grand," says new owner Ellen. "She's been back in work since end of March and adapted to life very well. The kids call her Mango, she is possibly the least sharp horse we have. She's certainly a chilled sort! It’s like she’s always been here."

We look forward to following Sharp Call’s progress as she enjoys her retirement in the beautiful Cheviot Hills.
