Popular grey Yorkshire Lady gave birth to a healthy filly foal at Norton Grove Stud this evening.

Born at 9.16pm, the filly is the first produce of the eight-time winning mare whose victories were on both the flat and over hurdles.

Named by former owner Mrs Linda Folwell, who sadly passed away in 2021, Yorkshire Lady won her first race at Leicester in 2020 as a two-year-old. The daughter of Mukhadram has always been a stable favourite and after the passing of Mrs Folwell the grey achieved the majority of her successes in the colours of Jim Munroe.

The new arrival is a daughter of Palace Pier, who was the champion three-year-old colt in Europe in 2020 and the champion older miler in Europe in 2021. His victories included five Group 1 races, namely the Queen Anne Stakes and the St James's Palace Stakes at Ascot, the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury and the Prix Jacques Le Marois, which he won twice at Deauville.

Mum and daughter are doing well and will remain at Norton Grove Stud before heading home to the yard.

The birth completes our 2026 foaling season with six colts and four fillies safely on the ground.
