Friday afternoon sees action at York where we have four runners.
First up is course and distance winner Eligible in the
Thornton Hospitality Furniture Apprentice Handicap
. He reeled off three wins in a row in December and January but hasn't been as good since being hiked in the handicap. The ten-year-old is in his veteran stages now and has landed stall 21. A superb servant for owner Lee Westwood he's won 12 times to date, earning almost £90,000 in prizemoney, and he owes nobody a thing. Lewis Chalkley takes the ride.
The
Constant Security Keeping York Racegoers Safe Rous Selling Stakes
sees us double-handed with debutants Mick's The Boy and Court Legend. A typically competitive affair, there are three horses with winning experience in the field and our debutants will have to be on their game here.
Bravo Hotel makes his seasonal reappearance in the five furlong
Dawson Williamson Architects Handicap
. He's finished third in four of his five starts and Billy Garritty will take the ride.
Joanna Mason heads to Chester to ride The Resdev Scholar in the second division of the
Allington Hughes Law Handicap
. A winner of three consecutive starts at the end of 2025 he's been placed in three of his five starts in 2026 and he remains on a competitive mark.
The Resdev Scholar has been drawn in the outside stall of the nine, and the horse to beat looks to be Miss Lady Grace. She was a comprehensive winner at Goodwood and can race off the same mark here. She's due to go up nine pounds from Saturday and her rider Alexandra Egan takes off a seven pound apprentice claim.
