After Joanna Mason equalled the yard record of 131 winners at Ripon today, it was Billy Garritty's turn to reach a landmark this evening as he rode his 50th winner for Mick and David Easterby.
The son of Russ Garritty, who rode 37 winners over jumps for Mick Easterby, Billy mainly rides as a flat jockey but has also recorded jumps winners for the stable. Billy's first winning ride for Mick and David came on Refuge in 2023, a season which brought him 14 yard winners.
J Street was the horse to bring up the half century as the three-year-old filly took the Ladies Day Sunday 16th August Fillies' Handicap at Southwell.
J Street was winning for the first time since joining us from Ivan Furtado and runs in the colours of Nick Bradley Racing.
