There's plenty of midweek action in store as we send out runners on the flat at Redcar and Carlisle and also over hurdles at Sedgefield, with five of our six runners bidding to record their first career wins.

Head For Freedom is our first runner of the afternoon as he aims to get back to winning ways at Redcar in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap. The three-year-old son of Iffraaj was a juvenile winner in a Beverley seller last season but hasn't hit the target in ten attempts since. Apprentice Shay Farmer takes the ride at Redcar where a field of 18 go to post. Head For Freedom steps up to seven furlongs for the first time having finished midfield at Ayr last time over six.

Lever Up represents Half Moon Racing in Redcar's Watch Race Replays On Racing TV Handicap where he steps back to a mile. He's a 13-race maiden and faces a maximum field of 20 runners. Lever Up's best performance of the season came at Carlisle when third of nine and he's not had a lot of help from the handicapper in his quest for his first win.

Social Spirit


We have three runners at Carlisle where Billy Garritty takes the rides.

Social Spirit ran a better race last time when third at Southwell and he returns to turf for the Andersons - Quality For The Home Nursery Handicap. He steps back up to six furlongs and he's now six pounds below his opening handicap mark as he seeks his first career win. His run last time hinted at a return to his early season form having been disappointing and York and then finishing midfield in a decent nursery at Glorious Goodwood.

Zous Juice showed much improvement last time when beaten a short head here last month and he looks to have a race in him. He should be sharper for the run, which came after a two month break, and he'll go well in the six furlong Quickstep Supporting Andersons Autumn Flooring Offers Handicap. Doing his best work late on, we go up to seven furlongs as the son of Zoustar aims to get his head in front for owner Howard Jones.

Home-bred Von Trotter is a horse we like very much and he was a winner at Doncaster last month. We stick to seven furlongs as he lines up for the Logic's 40th Anniversary Handicap. It will be the first time the son of Mattmu has run on easy ground so the going is an unknown. His dam preferred quick ground so we'll see how he gets along with the going on the soft side.

Sedgefield hosts an extra jumps fixture on Wednesday, which is a replacement for the abandoned meeting at Uttoxeter. Uttoxeter has been unable to irrigate properly due to water shortages and the ground remained too dry to race safely. As a result, the track could not guarantee suitable racing ground.

Brooklyn Lullaby is one horse to benefit from a shorter journey as she heads north to Country Durham for the Roxyfet Sports Lounge For Private Hire Mares' Handicap Hurdle. She showed a huge improvement in form when runner up on her handicap debut at Stratford in June, but failed to build on this next time at Worcester when a well beaten fifth of eight.
Brooklyn Lullaby


Stellarmasterpiece will be the horse to beat here, having won her last four races including three hurdles races at Stratford and also last time out on the flat at Catterick. Her form is head and shoulders above the rest of the field, although she's been raised eight pounds for her last win over jumps.
