Three Ways made his debut in the Middleton Selling stakes at York in May 1978. His first win came in the 'Leeds 3yo Juvenile Maiden Hurdle' at Catterick in 1979. In 1980 he recorded three wins over hurdles, his final success coming at Southwell in December.
