Nestled in the rolling Hambleton Hills near Sheriff Hutton, the stables of Mick & David Easterby sit at the heart of the beautiful Ryedale countryside. It’s a place steeped in racing history and full of character — a truly unique setting where tradition meets progress.

Mick Easterby, a true racing legend and Britain’s longest-serving racehorse trainer, sent out his first winner back in 1961. In 2021, he took out a joint licence with his son David, continuing the proud family tradition at New House Farm.

Over the decades, Mick has trained more than 2,500 winners, including Mrs McArdy (1,000 Guineas), Lochnager (Champion Sprinter), Wiganthorpe (Gimcrack Stakes) and Peterhof (Triumph Hurdle).

The yard has evolved over sixty years into something truly special. We have our own private gallops — flat, uphill, all-weather, and turf — plus schooling facilities and acres of paddocks where the horses enjoy daily turnout.

If you’re thinking about having a racehorse trained, or joining one of our friendly syndicates, we’d love to hear from you.
