Rehome Update: Stitch

In June we rehomed a lovely three-year-old gelding who we knew as Stitch.

A gentle and quiet horse, his sire is Camacho and his dam Embroidery, which is how he got his name!

We decided after some training that he wasn't going to be speedy enough for the racecourse but, as with all horses who don't make the racing grade, we decided to find him a new career.

Stitch was schooled over barrels to assess his jumping suitability and he excelled. He showed us he was a magnificent jumper and fluently and faultlessly jumped barrels in the sandpit.

With this in mind we then made him available to potential new owners seeking a horse with jumping ability.

"He's loved loads and spoilt rotten." - Anita, Stitch's new owner.

Stitch was sold at the first viewing! Anita is his new owner and he will enjoy his new life in the Scottish Borders where he'll do some eventing and hacking.

"He is fab doing lots of hacking alone and in company," said Anita. "He's getting better with traffic all the time. We'll start going to baby events come spring time. He's loved loads and spoilt rotten. He loves a treat."

"He is more labrador than thoroughbred. Thank you for letting me have him."

Stitch is the latest ina very long line of thoroughbreds to have found new careers off the track. Horses from our yard have gone onto eventing, polo, horseball, dressage and of course as riding horses. In the last year we've sent horses to new careers as far away as Cornwall, the west of Wales, Kent, Ireland and the very north of Scotland beyond Inverness!

If you are looking for that wonderful thoroughbred with whom to share your adventures then don't forget our rehoming programme. You can register to receive details of suitable horses by messaging us on our Facebook page.
